Joy Ewing MA, LMFT

I’m Joy Ewing, and it’s my heart’s passion to walk alongside individuals, couples, and families as they navigate life’s challenges and discover joy in the process. I believe therapy should feel like a safe, welcoming space—one where you can exhale, feel truly seen, and know you don’t have to face life’s struggles alone.

At Joy Life Counseling, I bring both professional expertise and genuine care into each session. Together, we’ll uncover what’s been holding you back and create pathways toward healing, deeper connection, and a greater sense of balance. Whether you’re working through anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, or simply longing to feel more fulfilled, my commitment is to meet you where you are with compassion, encouragement, and hope for the brighter days ahead.

Joy Ewing, MA, LMFT
Founder & CEO

Joy Life Counseling was born out of a deep calling, not just to provide therapy, but to create a space where healing is truly honored, connection is restored, and joy is reclaimed.

Joy Ewing began her journey as a solo private practice therapist with a passion for walking alongside individuals, couples, and families through some of life’s most tender and challenging moments. What started as a small, heart-led practice quickly grew through word of mouth, community trust, and a genuine commitment to showing up fully for each client. Over time, that vision expanded into what is now a thriving group practice, serving the Denver and Aurora communities with a team of dedicated, highly trained clinicians.

At the core of Joy’s work is a belief that healing happens in safe, connected relationships. As a Certified Emotionally Focused Therapist (EFT), Certified Eye Movement Desensation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist, and practitioner of neurofeedback (LENS), Joy integrates powerful, evidence-based modalities to support deep, lasting transformation. She is also trained in the Gottman Method, CBT, and other integrative approaches, allowing her to meet clients where they are while addressing both emotional and physiological aspects of healing.

Joy is especially passionate about serving BIPOC communities, couples, families, and individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, and relational challenges. Her approach is warm, relational, and grounded in attachment theory, helping clients not only understand their patterns but experience real change in how they connect with themselves and others.

But beyond the modalities and training, what truly sets Joy apart is her heart. She has created Joy Life Counseling to be more than just a therapy office, it’s a space of restoration, empowerment, and community. From the intentional design of the office to the integration of wellness services like yoga and neurofeedback, every detail reflects her commitment to holistic care.

Joy’s leadership is rooted in authenticity, faith, and a deep desire to see both clients and clinicians thrive. She pours into her team with the same care she gives her clients, fostering an environment where growth, learning, and connection are prioritized.

Joy Life Counseling is not just a practice, it’s a reflection of Joy’s journey, her purpose, and her unwavering belief that healing is possible for everyone.

Personal

I have been married for 21 years. We have a 20 year old daughter and 15 year old son. We also have a 10 year old fur baby named Mocha. My husband served in the military for 11 years, and we had the pleasure to live in Florida, Italy, and California. After the military we decided to move close to family here in Colorado.

In my free time I enjoy reading, spending time with family and friends, taking vacations, indoor cycling, watching movies and documentaries, meditating, and doing yoga.

I knew from a very young age that I wanted to become a therapist and work with children, couples, individuals, and families.

Becoming a Marriage and Family Therapist has truly been a life long dream and journey. I'm very fortunate to be able to do this work and honored by the people I'm able to work with.
