Wherever you are, you don't have to wait until everything falls apart before asking for support.
At Joy Life Counseling, we provide compassionate, culturally responsive, trauma-informed therapy and holistic wellness services for individuals, couples, children, teens, and families.
We are especially committed to increasing access and breaking the stigma surrounding mental health within Black, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and historically underserved communities, while creating an inclusive space where people of every race, culture, identity, and background are welcome.

Individual therapy gives you a space that's yours.
Our goal isn't to tell you who to become. It's to help you understand yourself, honor your healing journey, and reconnect with who you are.

COUPLES THERAPY. 55 MINUTES |. $150-$200
When You Love Each Other, But You've Lost Your Way Back to Each Other.

You may still love each other deeply—and still feel disconnected.
Maybe conversations quickly turn into arguments. Affection has changed. Trust has been damaged. Intimacy feels different. You feel more like roommates than partners. Or maybe you've been trying to solve the same problem for years without getting anywhere.

Using evidence-based approaches including Emotionally Focused Therapy and the Gottman Method, we help couples improve communication, work through conflict, rebuild trust, strengthen intimacy, and restore emotional connection.
Couples therapy isn't about deciding who's right or wrong.
It's about understanding the patterns you've gotten caught in and learning how to reach each other differently.
WHAT'S INCLUDED
55-minute therapy sessions
Relationship assessment and individualized goals
Communication and conflict-resolution tools
Support with emotional and physical intimacy
Attachment and connection-focused work
EXTENDED COUPLES & FAMILY THERAPY
Some Conversations Need More Than 50 Minutes.
For couples and families who want additional time to slow down, work through difficult patterns, and have deeper conversations without feeling rushed, we offer extended 90-minute sessions.

This option can be especially helpful when working through longstanding conflict, disconnection, trust concerns, major transitions, or complex family dynamics.

FAMILY THERAPY. 55 MINUTES. | $150-$200
Helping Your Family Hear Each Other Again.
Sometimes everyone in the family is hurting, but nobody knows how to talk about it.

Family therapy creates a space to slow things down and understand what's happening underneath the conflict.
We help families strengthen communication, navigate transitions, repair relationships, develop healthier patterns, and begin functioning as a connected team again.
CHILD & PLAY THERAPY. 55 MINUTES. | $125 - $150
Sometimes Children Don't Have the Words. Play Helps Them Find a Way to Express Them.
Maybe you've noticed anxiety, anger, sadness, behavioral changes, difficulty at school, withdrawal, or emotions your child doesn't quite know how to explain.

Children don't always process their experiences through conversation the way adults do.

Our therapists use developmentally appropriate approaches including play, sand tray, art, and creative activities to give children a safe way to express themselves, process emotions, develop coping skills, and build confidence.

We also believe parents are an important part of the healing process and work collaboratively with families whenever appropriate.
When your child is struggling, you feel it too.

TEEN THERAPY
A Place Where They Can Be Heard Without Feeling Judged.
Being a teenager today comes with pressures that aren't always easy to put into words.
Our therapists create supportive spaces where adolescents can talk honestly, develop healthy coping skills, understand their emotions, build confidence, and learn how to communicate what they need.

We also work with parents and families when appropriate to help strengthen relationships at home.
COUPLES THERAPY INTENSIVE

Sometimes couples need more than a weekly therapy session.
Couples intensives provide extended, focused time for partners who want to work more deeply on their relationship without having to stop just as the conversation begins to open up.

An intensive may be appropriate for couples experiencing significant disconnection, recurring conflict, trust concerns, communication breakdowns, or those simply wanting dedicated time to strengthen their relationship.

Not Sure Where to Start?
Let's figure it out together.
You don't need to know exactly what kind of therapy you need before reaching out.

Our consultation gives you an opportunity to tell us a little about what you're looking for, ask questions, discuss insurance or payment options, and determine which therapist or service may be the best fit.
